An open letter to The Boss, Jose Mourinho.

Things were getting worse than ever. The players were disappointed with the results. The "attack, attack" chants were beginning to replace the "Glory Glory" and "Viva Ronaldo" uproars. Mr Woodward was getting frustrated. A change was inevitable.

Succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson was never going to be easy. Partially due to the huge expectations, and partially do to the ageing squad he inherited, the David Moyes era was indeed a disaster. Then came the announcement of LVG taking over, and with his World Cup heroics, the expectations were sky high. You might remember, how high our expectations rose, when we defeated Barcelona by three goals to nil in our very first friendly. But things never really got going after that. With each failure, the murmurs grew against him. Finally, he had to face the axe.

And look who took over. Perhaps the most talked about manager ever in the history of the game, for reasons good and bad alike. With you coming, results were indeed a guarantee. We knew you were going to lead us into silverware. LVG left with us, a plethora of talent. The Rashfords, Martials and Lingards were new heroes on the rising. Honestly, with your arrival, we were pretty sure these talents were going to be wasted on the sidelines. To be honest, you weren't the name we were expecting.

But look how well you adapted to the uphill task of managing the greatest team in England, and one of the greatest of all European clubs. You changed your long followed tactics of trusting in experienced players. You gave young guns like Rashford and Lingard ample time to showcase their talents. And not to forget the signings you made. The topscorer of Europe on a free transfer. That was some deal. And Pogba too. The enormous price tag was always going to weigh him down. Yet, he played some beautiful football along with King Zlatan, and formed a formidable duo within the squad. The goals weren't coming. But we were attacking. We were playing better football than we had done in the past 3 years combined. There were many matches were we should have won by a comfortable margin, but ended up losing or drawing.

Yet, you gave us things to cheer about. Winning the league was never going to be easy, with the sheer number of matches we were playing. What was the highlight of our season was the shift of our focus from reaching the top 4 in the league to winning the UEL. The two cup trophies were an additional bonus to our season. By hook or crook, we managed to reach our minimum target, which was to qualify for the elite European competition, the Uefa Champions league.

But here at United, we are never satisfied with the results. We wouldn't mind booing our own coaches when they play for a draw. Because for us, football is not just a battle to be won, but a game to be enjoyed. That was what the Fergie era offered us. Results, along with a brand of football that even a footballing newbie could enjoy. Just as you feel that the tempo of the game was falling down, there was a 70 year old man screaming his lungs out, urging the players to produce an out of the world dribble, or an ambitious 70- yard pass. It was such an inspirational figure, that produced legends like Scholes, Cantona, Beckham, Neville brothers, and ofcourse the superstar himself, Cristiano Ronaldo.
We hope you stay here, and build a legacy of your own. You seem to be on course to attain that goal. But what we need is a league title in the very least. Because we are Manchester United, and not Arsenal. We are expected to win the league every single year, and with the resources and personnel we have, it is a target that we should indeed fight for.

Here at United, we always stay together. We celebrated the 2008 treble together. We cried after the tragic UCL final losses to Barcelona together. We hailed our Ronaldos and Rooneys together, and sure did we kick Liverpool's ass together. So, as always, we supporters stand hand-in-hand, shoulder to shoulder, and sing together, "In Jose, we trust".

We are the team that outlived the Munich air crash disaster. We are the ones who won the treble in '99, with a team of average age 24. Because here at United, we dare to dream. We dare to risk, we dare to gamble. Because we are the red devils, and as we always say, The reds go marching on and on!

The stakes are higher than ever. Pep is building an extremely good squad at the other end of the city. With the arrival of Salah, Liverpool's  front three looks formidable too, not to forget a master manager like Klopp. And as for Chelsea, you sure has some scores to settle, don't you?

The fans are ready, the players are ready. The world is waiting to see the Red Devils rise from the ashes as we always do. All the best on managing the greatest team in Europe. Let us settle some doubts this season. Hopes high, fingers crossed.

Willian - The Free Kick King

The Brazilian has netted past Newcastle, Southampton, Porto, Dynamo Kiev and twice past Maccabi.
He has four more than Chelsea legend Frank Lampard, who left the club in 2014, and is three ahead of PSG defender David Luiz - who was known for the spectacular.
The only other player currently in the Blues squad is Oscar, who has netted twice in 17 attempts.
The 27-year-old opened the scoring against Southampton but his Chelsea side suffered a 3-1 defeat

Willian has had just 19 shots from free-kicks, which gives him an impressive success percentage of 31.57- meaning he scores almost one in three.
With that being said it poses the question, is he Europe's best?
The closest player to him is Roma's Miralem Pjanic, who has an impressive four, with many believing he was the best around until the emergence of the little Brazilian.

Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen makes the top five after his brilliant free-kick double against Swansea back in October.
Level with him are two Spaniards in Daniel Parejo of Valencia and Athletic Bilbao's Benat, while 46 other players have found the net once so far this season.
So it's clear to see that Chelsea really do have the free-kick master in their midst.

Jamie Vardy becomes Guinness Record Holder

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has today been officially presented with his Guinness World Records certificate in honour of his 11 game record goal-scoring run in the Barclays Premier League.
The England front man received the award at Leicester City's training ground today ahead of his side's important fixture away to Swansea in the Premier League.
The Swansea game presents Vardy with an opportunity to chase down yet another milestone, this time in the form of Jimmy Dunne's long standing record for consecutive goals in the English top flight.
The former Sheffield United player's record of scoring in 12 straight games has stood since 1932.

TOP SCORERS IN CONSECUTIVE PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES

Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) - 10 games - 2015
Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United) - 10 games - 2003
Ruud van Nistelrooy (Manchester United) - 8 games - 2002
Daniel Sturridge (Liverpool) - 8 games - 2014
Mark Stein (Chelsea), Ian Wright, Emmanuel Adebayor and Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Alan Shearer (Newcastle) - all 7 games
In a moment that made history, Vardy notched his 14th goal of the season during the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the King Power Stadium in Leicester last Saturday.
Vardy's unprecedented goal scoring run has been stretched across three months from 29 August to 28 November.
His goal at Old Trafford ended former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy's 12 year old record of scoring in 10 consecutive games.
Accepting his Guinness World Records title, Vardy said: 'I'm delighted to have broken the record, but the most important thing is that the team is getting positive results.
'I've managed to get on the end of things, but it's my team-mates that have got me into the positions and all of our hard work that is making the difference.
'The record is a nice thing to have, but I don't mind who is scoring the goals, as long as we keep picking up points in every time we go on the pitch.'

Is the most expensive teenager worth the money?

Anthony Martial, the 19-year old Frenchman goes into the record books as the most expensive teenager.
anthony martialMartial, previously with AS Monaco in the French first division, has reportedly cost United upwards of 36 million pounds, or roughly 55 million dollars and possibly rising to a higher amount with bonuses.
This price tag has brought a lot of scrutiny to Ed Woodward, the chief executive of Manchester United, and coach Louis Van Gaal. To pay this amount of money for a 19 year old only recently called up by his national team, is nothing short of a big gamble by United.
The obvious positive side of this transfer is that Van Gaal has finally found a replacement for departing forwards Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Robin Van Persie, two integral parts of United’s title winning side in 2013. It also means that Wayne Rooney, who has struggled to score in the Premier League this season, could return to and thrive in the Number 10 position. It is a gamble, but a necessary one.
Manchester City centre back Elaquim Mangala said Martial won't be worried about performing according to his price tag.
There were also reports that Chelsea became furious at Monaco because they sold Martial. A lot of big teams had an eye on this talented youngster.

Predicting Price Rise/Fall in Fantasy League

Pedro to Chelsea

Pedro to Chelsea

Manchester United was the team who were interested in signing Pedro this pre-season but Mourinho is the one who seized the Barcelona treble winner Pedro at the right moment. Mourinho said they had a poor start to the new season and signing Pedro is a good way to improve the team.
Media reports are that Cuadrado, who didn't appear much for Chelsea after his transfer from Fiorentina is likely to be sold.

Pedro said: “I am very excited to start my adventure at Chelsea and I am here to keep winning titles. Thanks to the club and the supporters for giving me the opportunity to put the blue shirt on.”
